You may have seem him on ESPN last weekend during the Michigan State versus Michigan basketball game. He's fondly known as 'Waffle Guy' but in real life his name is Nate Guzowski and he was a special guest with Banana Don & Stephanie McCoy this morning on WITL. Nate is a senior at Michigan State University and is an economics major. When he's not wearing a waffle on his head, you can catch him on the MSU campus or working at the Pizza House in East Lansing.

He's been a proud member of the Izzone since his freshman year at Michigan State University and has been wearing the waffle since 2017. However, his rise to stardom was clearly this past weekend when ESPN showed Nate ('Waffle Guy') on TV numerous times. Nate is now hoping that he can bring the Spartans some more good luck this weekend at the Big 10 Tournament later this week. But first, he has to get there. Nate has a GoFundMe page set up to help with the costs of traveling and staying in the Windy City and the cost of tickets for the game/games. You can make a donation to his GoFundMe by clicking here.

UPDATE: ‘Waffle Guy’ hit his goal and is now in Chicago. Here is the update from his GoFundMe:

The past three days have been unreal. The original goal of getting to Chicago for the Big Ten Tournament has been achieved, and then some!

To all of my friends, family, fellow Michigan State students and alumni, and waffle lovers from near and far, I cannot thank you enough for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. My passion for Michigan State runs through every vein in my body (which is rather evident by now). Your generosity will allow me to showcase the waffle energy at the United Center for the ENTIRE weekend. Any unspent funds (plus all donations received after hitting the original goal) will be given to an organization that supports survivors of sexual assault.

Once again, I can't thank you enough for your support. Let's bring another championship back to the greatest university in the world. GO GREEN!

Nate was also kind enough to make Banana Don's dream come true and let him wear the waffle.
