If you phone isn't working it might be because there are outages around Michigan. According to WILX, there are several reports of outages for Verizon Wireless customers, particularly those using iPhones, across mid-Michigan this morning. But I have an Android phone and my phone is currently showing "No Service" so if it hasn't affected you yet you might see it soon.

The reports of the problems have been happening around 11am, and if your phone is affected you will see "No Service". There are over 1,100 problems that are being reported already. You can see the outages of the problems here. You can see more on the issue below.

UPDATE (3:30 p.m.) - Verizon Wireless says a cut fiber optic cable is the cause for the outage.  Affected customers are encouraged to enable Wi-Fi calling to make and receive calls at no additional charge. You can still call 911. And Verizon doesn't know when things will be back up in order.
