Lansing Boat Show
Check out pontoon boats, fishing boats, ski boats and more during the Lansing Boat Show at The Lansing Center this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (2/3 through 2/5). Don't just look, climb aboard and envision yourself as the captain of the vessel of your choice!
Dogs After Dark
Bring your leashed pup to Dogs After Dark! It's a guided night walk at Harris Nature Center in Okemos Friday night (2/3) beginning at 7pm. The route is about 3 miles long, and should easily help your doggo burn off some energy!
Mid-Winter Art/Craft Farmers Market
Enjoy a Mid-Winter Art/Craft Farmers Market inside the gym at Lansing's Alfreda Schmidt Southside Community Center this Saturday from 10am to 2pm. The event promises more than 60 local vendors with "a wide variety of Michigan-made food products, original art pieces, home décor, jewelry, pottery, wood and metalwork, knit/crocheted and sewn/quilted items, natural soaps, candles, herbal body products, stationery, and more"!
Screw Winter Party
Can't wait for the weather to warm up? You're not alone. Don your beach attire and stop by Capitol Harley-Davidson in Dimondale on Saturday from 10am to 3pm for their Screw Winter Party! It's a veritable winter luau with tropical drinks, a hula hoop contest and more.
Cookie Decorating Kids Class
Michigan Made Treats leads a Cookie Decorating Kids Class at Lansing's Allen Neighborhood Center from 10:30am to noon on Saturday (2/4). Learn how to make toppings and designs with fresh-baked cookies just in time for Valentine's Day!
Family Day at the MSU Broad Art Museum
This Saturday (2/4) is Family Day at the MSU Broad Art Museum. From 11am to 3pm, MSU's Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum welcomes children of all ages to experience hands-on fun and explore their creative sides. The event is free, but pre-registration is required.
Build-Your-Own-Terrarium Bar
Want to learn how to build the perfect terrarium? Van Atta's Greenhouse and Flower Shop in Haslett will be hosting a Build-Your-Own-Terrarium Bar with seminars scheduled at noon both Saturday (2/4) and Sunday (2/5). Bring your own supplies, or purchase some on-site.
Lansing Roller Derby
Lansing Roller Derby is in action with a double-header this Saturday evening (2/4) beginning at 5:30pm at Court One Training Center in East Lansing. There'll be an after-party at Mayfair Bar.
Lansing Reptile & Animal Extravaganza
Midwest Expos hosts the Lansing Reptile & Animal Extravaganza this Sunday (2/5) from 10am to 3pm at the Knights of Columbus building on North Grand River Avenue in Lansing. Visit and maybe go home with chameleons, spiders, snakes, macaws, cockatoos, parrots, cockatiels and more. Supplies will be available as well.
Polar Plunge for Special Olympics
Jackson Field in Lansing hosts the annual Polar Plunge for Special Olympics this Sunday (2/5). Pre-party begins at 11:30am, with the actual "plunge" starting at 12:30pm. Take a quick dip into the cold water and help raise funds to benefit more than 22,000 Special Olympics athletes across Michigan.
