My wife and I are big fans of the show "Homeland", a show on Showtime about the inner workings of the C.I.A.. Through Netflix and Amazon we've watched the first three seasons, but we don't have Showtime and the fourth season hasn't been released on DVD yet - so don't tell me anything about season 4 if I run into you.

That said, according to Maureen Dowd in the New York Times, the ladies who REALLY work at the C.I.A. are not happy with a number of the female characters who are portrayed working for the C.I.A. in movies and TV shows - like Carrie Mathison in "Homeland" (played by Claire Danes). Sandra Grimes says, “I wish they wouldn’t use centerfold models in tight clothes. We don’t look that way. And we don’t act that way.”

While I understand (my wife can tell you about the times I've rolled my eyes when we've watched movies and TV shows with characters who are disc jockeys), the truth ALWAYS gets stretched in Hollywood. And, by the way, "Homeland" has won a BUNCH of awards, (as did "Zero Dark Thirty") so, somebody likes them - present company included.

Interesting article, though. Click here to read the whole thing.
