St. Johns Military Moms Need Your Help
This morning we had a chance to talk to Jennifer, who manages a group called the St. Johns Military Moms, that meet once a month to offer support for women throughout the Mid-Michigan area who have family members in the service. The group also sends care packages to deployed service members each month and currently they are working on care packages to send for Christmas. They are in need of some donations to help fill those boxes. The items that they are asking for include:

- Coffee
- Foil Packets of Tuna/Chicken
- Beef Jerky
- Slim Jims
- Dried Fruits
- Seeds & Nuts
- Individual Powdered Drink Mix
- Energy Bars
- Granola
- Hard type Candy (Life Savers, Skittles, M&M's...)
- DVD's
- CDs
- Magazines
- Paperback Books
- Eye Drops
- Moleskin
- Disposable Razors
- Toothbrushes
- Chap Stick
- Puzzle Books
- Laundry Detergent Pods
- Scented Dryer Crystals
- Baby Wipes
- Calling Cards
- Christmas cards with personal notes
If you'd like to help, donations may be dropped off at the Verizon Store in St. Johns which is located next to Little Caesar's Pizza. The Verizon Store is owned by Al and Tami Nelson, the parents of St. John’s hero Andrew Nelson, who was killed by an IUD while deployed.
If you are unable to drop off your donations, they are also able to make arrangements to pick up the donations. Cash donations will also be accepted and will be used to help cover the postage to send the packages and/or to help purchase items specifically needed or requested.
