Sheetz has proposed a second Lansing-area site.

What Is Sheetz?

If you've never heard of or been to a Sheetz, you're in for a treat. Sheetz is a popular chain based out of Pennsylvania that is a combination restaurant, convenience store, and gas station.

Think of it like a combination Speedway and Quality Dairy, but even bigger (and possibly better).

These locations typically have twice as many pumps as a normal gas station. Plus, it's open 24/7 and features a huge menu of customizable and made-to-order foods. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks... you name it.

East Lansing Sheetz: What’s Coming

Currently there are plans for a Sheetz in East Lansing. We can look forward to it right at the northeast corner of Abbot Road and E. Saginaw Street, the former home of Rite Aid. While there's not a specific opening date set, this location is expected to open sometime in 2027.

The New Lansing Township Proposal

Ahead of that opening, Sheetz has proposed a second location in the area. This time in Lansing Township. The proposed location site is at 3815 W. St. Joseph St, which is just north of I-496.

So far the township's Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of the site, now it needs to go before the Board of Trustees.

If the Lansing location receives approval right away, construction on that site could begin this year.

Sheetz in Michigan: The Bigger Picture

These locations won't be the first or last for Sheetz in Michigan. Two in Romulus opened in 2024, and there are more locations planned in Metro Detroit and across the state.
