Did you know that approximately 72% to 84% of car seats aren't used correctly? According to numbers from Safe Ride 4 Kids, the most common forms of misuse are using the wrong seat for the child’s age and weight, a loose safety belt attachment to the car seat or loose harness traps on the child.

If you're not completely sure if you have your child's car seat installed correctly, or if you're worried that the straps are too loose, you'll want to head to Michigan State on Saturday for 'Seat Check Saturday'. The Michigan State University Police Department will have certified car seat safety technicians at the FREE inspection event. The event will be held at Lot 92 on the campus of Michigan State University from 10 am until 2 pm. Lot 92 is located at 775 Service Road in East Lansing. You can call 517-364-3760 to schedule an appointment or if you have any questions. You can also click here to find out more from Safe Ride 4 Kids about how to properly install a car seat.
