Schuler’s Restaurant To Temporarily Close After Christmas Eve

All of us have been affected in some way by the pandemic. Restaurants and bars have felt the brunt of it. Schuler's Restaurant in Marshall announced that they will be closing their doors temporarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The restaurant made the announcement Friday, December 18th after the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services extended the closure of Michigan restaurants and bars for indoor dining until January 15, 2021.

While the decision to close temporarily is not easy, we recognize it is the right decision for our business in this current climate.  We look forward to announcing our reopening plans to you in the coming weeks.

During it's temporary closure, the restaurant plans to work on it's website, menu and the 2021 release of their private labeled wine. If you or anyone you know have any promotional cards from Schuler's, they will be honored 90 days after the restaurant reopens.

Schuler's was founded in 1909, by Albert Schuler. Native to Rome, New York, Albert moved to Marshall in the 1900s. Where he befriended the owner of a local cigar shop and later opened his own in 1909. A few years later in 1924, he purchased the Royal Hotel and Restaurant named it "The Schuler". Throughout the years, the business has been run by four generations. In November 2019, Sue Damron acquired full ownership. Damron has worked at Schuler's since 1998 where she started out as Hans Schuler's assistant. For more information on the history of the iconic Michigan restaurant, click here.
