A Lansing-area charity is supporting local children battling cancer with a fun community event this weekend, and there's still time to be part of it.

Santa's First Responders is a 501(c)(3) organization primarily composed of current and retired First Responders from around the Lansing area. The charity has been supplying holiday cheer to kids and families since 1990. Over the last three years, its community involvement has expanded to the UM Sparrow Children's Cancer Wing via first responder parades, gift givings, outings (including a night with the Lansing Lugnuts last May) and hospital visitations.  This year the organization will also be offering a "Santa's Wish" for one child battling cancer.

"We have a silent auction with prizes that will blow your mind," Mankowski says. "An Airbnb in Interlochen, countless bottles of like high-end bourbon... hunting guns and beyond, it's going to be crazy."
