Sam Hunt returned to the stage on Wednesday (Dec. 4), just two weeks after his DUI arrest in Nashville. The country superstar looks and sounds like he’s ready to put the past behind him.

Hunt’s performance took place in New York as part of the Stars and Strings concert put on by New York’s Country 94.7 radio station. The event also included performances from Dustin Lynch, Chris Janson and Runaway June.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Hunt made no mention of his arrest during his set. However, according to video obtained by TMZ, he did reiterate that he is looking forward to a busy slate of tour dates in 2020.

Before his performance, Hunt gave an interview in which he discussed being vulnerable in his songwriting.

“I’m not typically a vulnerable person,” Hunt admitted in interview footage obtained by Hollywood Life. “I don’t really express vulnerability in my day to day life. If you knew me, I’d never really show that side of myself. So I think music is the place to express that and get that out of my system a little bit. I guess all of my happy moods, I can get that out in day-to-day life. But the suppressed feelings, I go to the guitar to get those out. So that’s why it’s a little bit easier to write from that place than when I’m in a good mood. I’m just guessing that’s why that is!”

Hunt, who is currently out with his new single “Kinfolks,” was arrested in the early morning hours of Nov. 21 in Nashville for driving under the influence and possessing an open container. Police pulled him over after responding to calls from motorists who reported a man driving very fast and going the wrong way. Hunt's blood alcohol content was .173, more than twice the legal limit of .08 in Tennessee.

Hunt apologized to his fans one date later via a statement posted to his Twitter account.

Hunt is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 17.
