In Need Of Romance? It Lives In The English Inn

A few weeks ago I wrote an article about romance. I was getting ready to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my wife and we are terrible at planning in advance. About a month before our anniversary we said to ourselves "our anniversary is in a month, we should do something fun". Them came, "our anniversary is in two weeks, we should do something fun". Then of course, "our anniversary is this Friday, we should do something fun". We are terrible at planning ahead.

Lucky for us I took my own advice from my article and looked into making reservations for dinner at the English Inn in Eaton Rapids. We've eaten there a couple times and really enjoyed the food, the service and the ambience. There is something special about the English Inn and its style. Construction on what is now the English Inn began in 1927. The history is really cool and you can read about it here.

We originally called to make dinner reservations. Then we started talking about overnight accommodations. We've been curious about staying at the EI for a while now, we learned that they also have cottages that you can rent. We chose a cottage, the accommodations were spectacular. The entire property at the EI is beautiful. Our overnight included brunch the next day. We had a lot of fun on our brief getaway to Eaton Rapids and it was worth every penny.

Listen, it doesn't make you a wuss taking a swing at being romantic. I've found that the more I listen to the little things and surprise her with unexpected acts of love, the happier my wife is.
