The Best Restaurants With Fireplaces In Mid Michigan

When I woke up this morning there was zero snow on the ground. Although snow was in the forecast, I didn't think we would get much. The ground is covered as of the time I'm writing this and it looks cold outside.

I am forty eight years old. Ten years ago the cold didn't affect me like it does now. I could wear my shorts and t-shirts for a good portion of the winter, without hesitation. Nowadays I layer up to go outside, even if it's forty degrees. Getting warm quickly is an added bonus if I have been out in the cold for a while.

Fireplaces are awesome for many reasons. They are amazing at warming a room and getting the bones warmed up after a few hours in the cold. Fireplaces are also romantic. How about killing two birds with one stone. You can dine out at a local restaurant that has a firelplace. You'll warm up quickly from your walk into the restaurant and it might be something that your date might really enjoy.

A few years ago my wife and I went to the Cracker Barrell in Okemos after the MSU vs Penn State game. It was a terrible day for weather with snow, rain and bitter cold temps. The use of the fireplace was on full display with Spartan and Penn State fans lined up and sitting in front of it to try to thaw out. Although Cracker Barrell isn't romantic, it is cozy.
