Ever been in the Pontiac Silverdome? I went there twice, to see DeWitt play in the state football championships. The Lions and Pistons played there for a long time and it hosted Super Bowl XVI in 1982. There were a lot of special events like motocross races and monster truck shows and Wrestlemania III in 1987. And concerts. For thirty years, the Silverdome hosted some of the biggest acts in music, including Elvis, the Who and Led Zeppelin. Even the Pope celebrated mass there in 1987. (1987 was a good year for the Silverdome)

Not anymore. It's been vacant for a long time now. And it's not looking too good these days. Click here to see the story and some photos from a blog called Architectural Afterlife.
