I can't count the times I drove past this place over the years and told myself that one day I was going to stop in. But it looks like that's not going to happen because this Lansing area dining institution has finally come down.

According to lansingcitypulse.com, Theio's Restaurant, the long time 24 hour diner located at 2650 East Michigan Avenue was demolished Wednesday morning. The reason for the destruction of the business after 40 plus years was that in March the structure was found to have electrical problems and was condemned.

The restaurant, near Mac's, was popular with the late night after bar crowd, neighborhood regulars and students from Michigan State University.
