If you love yourself a delicious craft beer and some awesome arcade games, you'll find a new place to enjoy both of those things in Lansing's Old Town with The Grid Arcade & Bar!

The Grid is a brand new watering hole in Old Town, but don't let the newness fool ya, it's wonderfully retro! If you grew up any time from the 70's through the 90's, you'll be hit by a HUGE wave of nostalgia; The Grid features dozens of arcade games and pinball machines "from gaming's golden age of the 70's and 80's."

Corey Montie, one of the owners of The Grid, says that people can come in and enjoy some of the classic favorites like Pac-Man and Frogger, but there are also tons more games that are a little lesser known that are such a blast to play as well! In addition to all the vintage arcade and pinball machines, there's also a lounge area upstairs that boasts huge flat screens, comfy couches, and Mario Kart on Nintendo 64. I can't wait to get my hands on one of those controllers!

I was lucky enough to check out The Grid before it's opening, and one of FAVORITE parts was the fact that you are totally immersed in an arcade/video game world... The holders for flights of beer are like the swords from The Legend of Zelda, Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man signs adorn the walls above the restrooms, and (best of all) the ceiling is painted to make you feel as if you're in the original Mario video game, complete with clouds and green pipes!

And what's an arcade and bar without the bar?!? The Grid has more than 40 beers on tap, including MANY Michigan made ones. The specialty cocktail list is pretty neat too, with names like "The Dude", "Judy Garland", and "Reaganomics". Plus, every drink comes with tokens for the arcade games. So if you're drinking, you play for free! There's no kitchen at The Grid, but they will offer packaged snacks. You'll also be able to order from Pablo's and Sir Pizza and have it delivered!

The Grid opens its doors Tuesday, April 18th at 4 pm. It is a 21 & older venue, but there are plans to welcome families with special event days.
