Ordering Free Covid-19 Tests Will Take You To This Site. Don’t Be Afraid
Ok, so I was confused and scared because I thought, "this might be some kind of scam".
Can you blame a guy for being a little skeptical?
Because it's the government. The last time they tried to roll out something like this it was the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare/Healthcare.gov website. That was a disaster.
Although it appeared to be up and running normally, visitors quickly encountered numerous types of technical problems, and, by some estimates, only 1% of interested people were able to enroll to the site in the first week of its operations. Even for those that did manage to enroll, insurance providers later reported some instances of applications submitted through the site with required information missing. (Wikipedia)
So when they said to head to COVIDtests.gov, I did expect the worst. Especially on the first day of signup for your free at-home Covid-19 tests.
When I got there, I was pleasantly surprised that it worked and it looked like this.
But once you click on that blue "order free at-home tests" button, you're taken HERE.
It's enough to freak you out and question if you should continue clicking and filling in your information.
Ok, I freaked out and was worried if I should submit my info.
Don't worry, you're on the right website.
The White House says “tests will typically ship within 7-12 days of ordering” through the U.S. Postal Service. USPS reports shipping times of 1-3 days for its first-class package
service in the continental United States. (NBC Chicago)
When ordering the free Covid-19 tests, please remember the following.
- Limit of one order per residential address
- One order includes 4 individual rapid antigen COVID-19 tests
- Orders will ship free starting in late January (USPS)
When ordering your tests you'll go from Covidtests.gov to USPS.com/covidtests. Don't freak out. This is normal and you'll be ordering through USPS because they'll be the ones delivering them.
But always be careful and make sure you're clicking on real links. Not just putting your personal and sensitive information into a form because it looked legit.
Don't get scammed by fake websites.
Be safe and you can order your FREE at-home Covid-19 test kits now.
Don't wait. Order them early BEFORE you need them.
