One of Lansing’s Most Legendary Taco Shops May Be Closing

One thing is for sure there are no shortages of great places to eat in the Lansing area. Since moving here a year and a half ago I have had some amazing meals, everything from restaurants specializing in grilled cheese, burgers, pizza, sushi and so much more.

Sure there are a few things that I wish were here in Lansing like Portillos Hot Dogs, Del Taco (love their fish tacos), and of course Waffle House.

Always sad too when one of our favorite restaurants closes, One that may be soon is one of Lansing’s most legendary taco shops according to lansingcitypulse.com.

Mr. Taco in South Lansing may be up for sale in the not too distant future.

Word around town is they may sell the restaurant to keep it alive,” says Bill Bonofiglo. It's the last one out of 4 restaurants that use to be here. Not long ago Bill speculated that  “it is no secret Mr. Taco will be sold or will be forced to close.” This is from social media posts lately as well.

In a series of social media posts over the last several weeks, Bonofiglo has pleaded with customers to continue patronizing his taco shop amid the pandemic, subsequent staffing shortages and various operational challenges — including an apparent shortage of taco sauce.

Let's hope this great restaurant can be saved, It has been around a long time, since 1967. Let's do our part and go grab some tacos and help another local business in the Lansing area.
