Officials Tell Residents To Stay Out Of The Grand River
Officials with the Ionia County Health Department have issued a NO BODY CONTACT ADVISORY for the Grand River in Ionia County. In the public health advisory that they posted on Facebook earlier today, it was reported that sampling that was done earlier this week in Portland at Kent Street and also in Saranac at Bridge Street revealed "high levels of E. coli at both Ionia County locations".
Anyone with questions regarding the details of the sampling and the NO BODY CONTACT ADVISORY can call the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) at 517-342-4419. Officials will be performing more tests and will let the public know when the advisory has been lifted. You can click here to read more.
