The most important thing to keep in mind with the coronavirus stimulus checks is that money gets to people who are struggling during these difficult times.  And yes that means people right in in Michigan and all across the United States.

According to USA Today, a third round of coronavirus aid checks should be coming within days or several weeks.

USA Today tells us that millions of struggling Americans would get one time direct payments of up to $1,400.  The payments are part of President Joe Biden's $1.9 trillion American rescue Plan, his first initiative since taking office in January.

Not everyone will get checks said USA Today.  Under the new legislation, individuals with an adjusted gross income of $80,000 or less are eligible for a one time payment of up to $1,400, plus an additional $1,400 for each dependent child.

The payments start to phase out for individuals earning $75,000 and will cut off completely for anyone who makes more than $80,000  (USA Today)

According to USA Today as well, for couples filing jointly, the phaseout starts for those making $150,000 and cuts off at $160,000.  For those filing as head of household, the phaseout begins at $112,500 and cuts off at $120,000.

If we take a look at senior citizens and their needs, USA Today tells us that most will qualify for a check, just as they did during the first two rounds.  One change will mean that some seniors who were excluded last year will be eligible this time.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, millions of people have lost their jobs and are unable to feed their families and to pay bills on time.  I'm sure this $1,400 stimulus check will not only help many families here in Michigan, but millions of people across the country.
