A leading hospital review site says there's exactly one health care company in Michigan on its 2025 list of the "150 Best Places to Work in Healthcare" - and it may not be who you think.

What Becker’s List Really Means

Becker's Hospital Review based its unranked list on editorial research as well as nominations from health care workers themselves. The website stresses that "organizations do not pay and cannot pay for inclusion on this list", but also points out that its list is not necessarily an all-inclusive one.

Who Didn’t Make the List?

You won't find anything about University of Michigan Health on this year's list, nor anything for Henry Ford Health. MSU Health Care - based in East Lansing - is the only Michigan health care company to appear among the "150 Best Places to Work in Healthcare" for 2025.

Ann Arbor-based Michigan Medicine had been included on the list in 2023 and 2024, but was absent for 2025.

Why MSU Health Care Stands Out

What makes MSU Health Care such a great place to work? According to Becker's Hospital Review, "the organization offers 100% free healthcare for employees and dependents, a 10% 401(k) contribution and discounted tuition, leading to increased workforce stability and satisfaction."

Benefits That Make a Difference

Other perks (according to the MSU Health Care website) include paid parental leave - extending up to 6 weeks' paid leave to both new moms and dads when a new child joins the family; and a "course fee courtesy", which offers to pay half of on-campus undergrad tuition costs at Michigan State University for the employee's spouse and/or children.
