More Freezing Rain & Strong Winds Expected For Mid-Michigan
Another WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has been issued for Mid-Michigan from 7pm tonight (2/7/19) through 7pm on Friday (2/8/19). Here's what we can expect this time around...
First, the National Weather Service says that we'll see some periods of freezing rain this morning that will transition to rain showers throughout the today and then will quickly change to snow showers this evening. According to the National Weather Service, wet roads will "quickly freeze" by late this evening. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches are expected and snow and blowing snow will become likely overnight. The National Weather Service ways that we will some strong winds with this storm and wind gusts could be as high as 45 mph.
The National Weather Service is reminding residents that:
- Power outages and tree damage are possible due to the wind.
- Travel could be difficult.
- Roads will become slick.
- The hazardous conditions will impact the Friday morning commute from the slick roads and falling snow and blowing and drifting snow.
- Expect slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
