“Mighty Uke Day” Coming To Lansing’s Old Town
Attention all ukulele fans (and who isn't?) - the 6th annual "Mighty Uke Day" is coming to Lansing's Old Town on May 13, through the 15th. There's gonna be live shows, workshops, jam sessions and kids activities. A lot of these activities are free, with shuttle buses to take you to some activities.
In their press release, the organizers include this iconic quote:
“It’s the thinking man’s violin” - Krusty the Clown
And, there's gonna be hula dancing from the Hoaloha Polynesian Dance Group - people who know what they're doing. Not like your drunk Aunt Nancy, who once took a trip to Hawaii, and now insists on teaching everybody how to hula at your family reunions.
I had no idea about this. I'm thinking about going down to check it out.
