Michigan’s Deer Season – Where’s The Best Hunting?
It feels (to me) like it snuck up on us, but Michigan's deer season, in the form of the "early antlerless firearm" and "youth hunt" will be here, next weekend. And according to MLive.com and the DNR, Mid-Michigan is a good place to hunt.
Now, I know we're having problems with CWD in the surrounding area and it's affected baiting and late archery season. But, based on last year's hunter success numbers, the area around us and just to the north in Gratiot and Isabella Counties, had success rates of between 60 and 80%. The bright spot in the U.P. last year was Menominee County, on the Wisconsin border.
Good luck - and remember - photos or it never happened.
