Michigan State Names Alan Haller As The School’s New AD
Lansing Sexton HS graduate and former Michigan State football player was named as Michigan State's new Athletic Director by the school's Board of Trustees on Wednesday afternoon.
Haller will replace Bill Beekman who is being reassigned within the administration. The 50-year-old Haller was a defensive back under George Perles in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
After a four-year NFL career, Haller returned to MSU as a member of the school's police department before joining the athletic department in an administrative role eleven years ago.
Haller had wide support amongst athletic alumni dating back to the great 1960's football teams at MSU.
Alan is the sixth Spartan graduate to be named athletic director with George Perles, Mark Hollis, Doug Weaver, George Gauthier, and Clarence Underwood being the others.
