Or who falls for something like that? When you hear the story of how this scam works, it's almost akin to when people fall for sending money to a Nigerian prince.

And all the money wire services warn you of getting scammed and sending money to questionable (foreign) sources in exchange for more money.

There's a whole list below.

Again, I'm sending you money so you can send me more money?

"Where they do that at" indeed.

Scammers gonna scam, you just don't have to fall for it.

What's worse is that the Michigan Lottery has got to take the time to let people know that this is a scam and they shouldn't be falling for anything like it.

The Michigan Lottery is warning the public to be aware of scam artists telling people they’ve won a big lottery prize but need to pay a fee to collect it.

The Michigan Lottery processes all prize claims for free, and players must have a valid winning ticket to claim a prize. If you haven’t bought a Lottery ticket or played a Lottery game, there’s no way you could win a prize. (Michigan Lottery)

3 big takeaways here people.

  1. You don't pay to collect your winnings from the Michigan State Lottery. Sure they take out taxes for big prizes but come on.
  2. The Michigan Lottery processes your prize claims for free. Again with the taxes but otherwise, IT'S FREE TO COLLECT YOUR CASH.
  3. This is a big one. You actually have to play to win. As in buy a lottery ticket or actually play a game.

Imagine someone walking up to you on the street and out of nowhere saying, "Hey, you won some money and all you gotta do to claim it is to give me some money to go get it for you."

You wouldn't fall for that, would you?

No. Please tell me you said no.

Don't fall for that and definitely don't fall for this scam.
