Michigan Lottery Player Wins $17 Million

It was a big weekend for someone in West Branch, Michigan. According to the Michigan Lottery, someone matched all the numbers in the Lotto 47 drawing on Saturday, August 24th and won $17.01 million. The winning ticket that matched all six numbers was sold at the Checkered Flag Party Store located at 2015 South M-33 in West Branch. The winning numbers for Saturday's drawing were 5-15-21-28-38-43.

It's been awhile since someone hit the Lotto 47 jackpot. The Michigan Lottery says that back in February, a player won a $2.5 million Lotto 47 jackpot with a ticket bought at the Uptown Bar, located at 8 West Front Street in Monroe. Each Lotto 47 ticket costs $1 and players select six numbers from one to 47 for a chance to win a jackpot starting at $1 million. That jackpot continues to grow until someone wins it. The jackpot winner has one year to claim their prize at the Michigan Lottery headquarters in Lansing. They can take a lump sum cash prize or accept 30 annual payments.
