If you're looking to take a road trip this summer, I put together a few places worth visiting in Michigan!

Traverse City

Did you know that Traverse City was voted as the number one best lake beach town in America?

TC is one of many beautiful cities in our state. There's tons of stuff to do too! We're talking micro breweries, wine tours, hike, bike, golf, ski, snowboard and so much more!

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore was also voted as one of the best vacation spots! Not only do the dunes have history, but they have amazing views and beautiful beaches.

If you're really looking to get your exercise in, go do the famous Dune Climb. It's a 3.5 mile hike and takes roughly 3-4 hours to do.

Petoskey

C'mon you know you want to go on a search for those famous Petoskey stones! If you don't know what they are, they're both a rock and a fossil composed of fossilized rugose coral.

There are so many reasons to visit the Petoskey area, they have 17 different golf courses and several places to eat and shop!

If you're feeling extra adventurous, you can do some zip lining or sky dive! Or maybe spend the day out on the water!

Mackinac Island

Mackinac Island is home of Michigan's best state park. Did you know that it became the United States second national park in 1875? It contains 70.5 miles of roads and trails.

There are tons of attractions including Fort Mackinac, the Native American Cultural History Trail, and the Mackinac Island Botanical Trail. If you're looking for some breathtaking views, Sugar Loaf, Arch Rock, Robinson's Fully, and many more are worth checking out!

Don't forget to grab yourself some fudge while you're there!

Muskegon

Muskegon doesn't just have tons of beaches, they also have a ton waterfront restaurants for you to kick back and enjoy! If you're looking to hike, Muskegon State Park has 12 miles of hiking trails.

Check out the Port City Princess Cruise or visit Michigan Adventure! Even if you're not the biggest fan of roller coasters, you can explore the WildWater Adventure!

Munising

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, need I say more? It's on the shore of Lake Superior in the U.P. and features beaches, forest, sand dunes and more.

Enjoy the beauty of Munising waterfall while you're there. It's a 50 foot waterfall and you only have to walk about a 1/4 of a mile to check it out.

Whether you're looking to camp or shack up in a hotel, there's plenty of places to stay too.
