The Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Monument Commission is trying to raise money to build a moment in downtown Lansing that would honor Michigan's law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. According to the Detroit News, the memorial would honor the more than forty officers who have died in the line of duty in the last twelve years. The memorial monument will be located at the corner of Allegan Street and Butler Boulevard, directly south of the Vietnam Memorial, near the State Capitol building in Lansing. The group still needs approximately $350,000 to make the memorial a reality.
