Michigan Casino in the U.P. Changes Opening Date
When we last left you, our friends at the Island Resort and Casino in Harris, Michigan - west of Escanaba - were planning to begin a phased re-opening for today, with the slot machines opening today, the golf course on Friday and the hotel opening next Wednesday. Um, that's not going to happen.
According to a post last night on the resort's Facebook page:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Island Resort & Casino reopening has been postponed until Saturday, May 16th. We apologize for any inconvenience, we hope to see you then!
We still don't know exactly what parts of the resort and casino will open on that day, or if the entire plan has been just pushed back to begin on the 16th. The original plan also left up in the air a timeline for when the spa, convention center, table games there would be opening. Still no word on when that might happen.
