They say crime doesn't pay, and don't do the crime if you can't do the time. I guess that makes sense. I could never be confined to a cell. I would literally go crazy, and solitary confinement would be torture beyond belief for me.

The Citizens for Prison Reform is trying to reduce the amount of time Michigan prisoners spend in solitary confinement. They, and many folks, think is is cruel and  inhumane. The state Department of Corrections says they are already making changes for the better for the inmates according to Fox47news.com

“We’re not just throwing people in there willy nilly placing people in segregation just because they’re a problem or they have an attitude so we throw them in there, they’re out of sight out of mind. That’s absolutely not the case and not how it is handled," said Department of Corrections spokesperson Chris Gautz.

This blows my mind, and I wonder if there is a way to change this. I could not even imagine what those people must be feeling. Really sad to think about.
