Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd brought a brand-new song to the 2022 CMT Music Awards stage on Monday night (April 11.) They performed "I Can't Love You Anymore," one of the tracks off Morris' latest album, Humble Quest.

The pair kept things sweet, breezy and casual for their performance, with Hurd rocking a Canadian tuxedo and strumming an acoustic guitar. Maren, wearing a gauzy brown dress and keeping time with a tambourine, handled lead vocals. The pair brought playful charm to every line of the song, with Morris jokingly fanning herself as she sang the line, "You're so good lookin' it kinda makes me sick."

In another verse, Morris smirked during the line, "You like me even when I've been a bitch," and Hurd giggled, his face away from the microphone.

Humble Quest in March 2021. While not billed as a duet, it features male backing vocals. Some of the song's lyrics also speak specifically to Morris' relationship with her fellow artist husband: For example, she references "fallin' for a boy from Michigan," which is Hurd's home state.

The pair have found plenty of creative inspiration in collaborating with each other lately. In early 2021, they put out "Chasing After You," their hit country radio single, which features on Hurd's latest album, Pelago.

Meanwhile, Morris is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year for her new single, "Circles Around This Town." It's a personal song detailing Morris' rise to stardom, and Reba McEntire even makes a quick vocal cameo in the beginning of the music video.

"Circles Around This Town" was also one of the preliminary nominees for the Video of the Year trophy, but leading up to awards show day, that list was whittled down to three finalists. Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood's "If I Didn't Love You," Cody Johnson's "'Til You Can't" and Kane Brown's "One Mississippi" are the remaining contenders in the category.

The 2022 CMT Awards aired live from Nashville on CBS. Kelsea Ballerini, Anthony Mackie and Kane Brown co-hosted the show. Brown was a last-minute addition to the hosting lineup, as Ballerini had to bow out of attending in person after receiving a positive COVID-19 test. She'll still do her part to host virtually from home.
