Have you heard the news about southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd? They will not perform at the Jackson County Fair on Tuesday, August 10, due to COVID-19.

I've been a big fan of Lynyrd Skynyrd for a very long time and was hoping to see them at the County Fair on Tuesday night. This southern rock band has had several hit songs over the years including Sweet Home Alabama and Free Bird.

According to mlive.com:

The band announced at 11:51 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7, via its Facebook page that they will be unable to perform their next four scheduled shows. Among the performances was one scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 10, as part of the 167th annual Jackson County Fair.

Two of Lynyrd Skynyrd's band members tested positive for COVID-19 and that's the reason for the cancellation

I went o a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert at Cooley Law School Stadium about 20 years ago and they really put on a great show that night. They played all of their classic hits that we've listened to on the radio for so many years.

One of my favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd songs, FREE BIRD!

However, they have come up with a headliner replacement for Tuesday, August 10. Don Felder formerly of the Eagles, Blackstone Cherry, and Walker Montgomery have offered their services for Tuesday evening.

We're sure that Don Felder and the rest of the gang will put on a great show at the Jackson County Fair.

By the way, all Lynyrd Skynyrd ticket holders that still attend will receive a partial credit of $35. Fans that purchased their tickets online via ETix will automatically receive a credit to the card used at the time of purchase.
