Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh’s Former $11M Amazing Estate: Look
University Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh is finally letting go of his day in California. Harbaugh recently sold his Bay Area estate for a staggering $11.78 million.
According to the L.A. Times, Harbaugh is walking away from the home in the exclusive area of Atherton with double his money. According to reports, Harbaugh paid $6.3 million for the home in 2012 following his first year as head coach for the Sant Francisco 49ers, and before joining the Michigan Wolverines in 2014.
The estate has an 8,500-square-foot home and a guest house with five bedrooms. There are a total of eight bathrooms between them. The estate covers 1.3 acres in Atherton which is considered one of the most affluent locations in the area near Stanford University. Harbaugh's neighbors include Steph Curry, Jerry Rice, and Charles Schwab to name a few.
Mlive reported that Coach Harbaugh listed the home on Valentine's Day of this year, just a day before he signed a five-year, $36 million contract extension at Michigan. The original asking price was $12.988 million. Harbaugh and his wife had kept the home even after making the move to Ann Arbor in 2015, most likely due to the fact that it was close to his "roots". Harbaugh had graduated from high school in 1982 in nearby Palo Alto.
If you're thinking the sale ends Harbaugh's ties to the West Coast, think again. Records show Harbaugh and his wife own a 3,300-square-foot beach house near San Diego purchased for $4 million back in 2017.
