Lions Great Barry Sanders Voted Greatest College Football Player Ever
Detroit Lions Running Back Barry Sanders is one of the greatest ever to play in the NFL. In a recent poll by USA Today he is now considered the best to play in College.
According to the story from M-Live, the Lions Hall of Fame running back was named the greatest college football player ever.
Sanders, who played at Oklahoma State from 1986 to 1988, beat out former Pittsburgh Running Back, Tony Dorsett in the final. The poll also saw Sanders up against names like Charles Woodson, Bo Jackson, Herschel Walker and Mike Singletary.
Barry received 85 percent of the vote and Dorsett had 15 percent. The poll was conducted by USA Today. 1988 saw Sanders win the Heisman Trophy along with setting a NCAA record with 2,628 rushing yards.
He went on to a Hall of Fame career with the Detroit Lions being inducted in to Canton in 2004. The team announced an all time Lions team earlier this season and Barry was among the names featured at running back.
