Life-Threatening Large Waves On Lake Michigan Today
The National Weather Service is warning residents in Michigan that conditions on Lake Michigan will be very dangerous today and tomorrow. (Tuesday, August 21st and Wednesday, August 22nd.) Officials with the National Weather Service say that "life-threatening large waves and strong currents" are expected on Lake Michigan and will affect areas all along the lake.
Officials say that drownings become more common with waves that are 3 to 5 feet or higher and by tonight, Lake Michigan waves could increase all the way up to 6-10 feet.
