According to the Lansing State Journal, Saturday tours of the Capitol building in Lansing are returning for the first time in nearly twenty years. The building will be open to the public for tours during Be A Tourist In Your Own Town on Saturday, May 30th and then will maintain a regular Saturday schedule starting on June 6th. Tours at the Capitol will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

As an added bonus, those visiting the Capitol building this spring and summer will also be able to check out the dome restortation. Crews are repairing corrosion, replacing decorative metal and performing other renovations to the dome of the 136-year-old building. That project is going to cost $6.4 million.
