Big Changes for the Lansing Center as New Management Takes Over

A big change has been made for the Lansing Center

Located at 333 E Michigan Ave, the Lansing Center (officially the Lansing Convention Center) is Lansing's largest convention center. And, it's currently under new management.

According to WILX, ASM Global was selected to run the Lansing Center under a contract that went into effect on July 1.

Who is ASM Global?

ASM Global is a venue & event management company based out of Los Angeles, California. They manage amphitheaters, arenas, convention centers, stadiums, theaters, and more.

You’ve probably heard of—or even been to—some of the venues they manage. Places like Soldier Field in Chicago, Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and the Dow Event Center in Saginaw.

ASM Global really lives up to the 'global' part of its name, as the manage group also runs properties in Stockholm, Manchester, Brisbane, and Dubai.

What to Expect for the Future of the Lansing Center

The Lansing Entertainment and Public Facilities Authority (LEPFA) chose ASM Global to run the Lansing Center, and they are very excited about this change, stating:

[Legends/ASM Global's] global experience and proven track record in venue management will help us attract new events, enhance guest experiences, and maximize the event and entertainment facility’s role as a vital economic engine for Lansing. We’re proud to welcome them to our community and look forward to what we’ll accomplish together

In addition to running the Lansing Center, ASM Global will also manage Groesbeck Golf Course and Jackson Field.

Hopefully this means we'll see some new life be brought to the Lansing Center and the whole downtown area as a result.
