Both announcements were made within hours of each other yesterday.

Walmart and Kroger said that they are asking customers NOT to bring firearms into their retail stores, even in states that have open-carry laws. Walmart also announced that they will no longer sell handgun ammunition in their stores.

In Michigan, it's legal to open-carry. According to Michigan State Police, "In Michigan, it is legal for a person to carry a firearm in public as long as the person is carrying the firearm with lawful intent and the firearm is not concealed. You will not find a law that states it is legal to openly carry a firearm. It is legal because there is no Michigan law that prohibits it; however, Michigan law limits the premises on which a person may carry a firearm."

The key word here is ASKING. They're not prohibiting it, because they can't. What do you think of this move?
