Beloved Lansing Flower Shop Closing After 84 Years
Sadly, Lansing is losing another locally owned business.
Longtime Lansing Business is Closing Permanently
After 84 years of creating beautiful arrangements and memories for greater Lansing and beyond, Jon Anthony Florist is preparing to close its doors for good.
This Lansing community landmark was founded by Harriet and John Anthony in 1941 and has operated from its Michigan Avenue location since 1946, between what is now Jackson Field and Sparrow Hospital.

Known for its stunning floral arrangements and personal touch, the flower shop has served generations of weddings, milestone events, and special moments.
Now, the flower shop lives on with the help of the owners' daughters. For their daughters, Pamela Sage and Patricia Holliday, the business has always been more than a job: it was a family. Sage recalled to Lansing State Journal how she was 8 years old and spent time dusting the counters to help. And from there, both daughters spent many years working in the family business. Holliday, now 83, continues to run the shop in its final stretch.
When is Jon Anthony Florist Closing?
It's deeply saddening to see this business close its doors, especially after such a long and treasured past in Lansing and beyond. Jon Anthony Florist will close on June 14th.
Leading up until closing, they are having a closing sale, gift items are 75% off and plants are 50% off.
Local Lansing Businesses Closing
Anthony's Flowers won't be the only local business that's closed this year. Slice by Saddleback, Aldaco's Taco Bar, and more have also closed in recent weeks.
