You have Altu's on Michigan Avenue that serves up Ethiopian cuisine. EnVie in Downtown Lansing that offers French cuisine. And a new restaurant, Noosh, on Lansing's west side that offers up Afghan cuisine.

Now, we have another new culinary journey we can take with this brand new restaurant.

A brand new restaurant has opened in Okemos.

This new eatery can be found in the Meridian Mall and it's serving up Jamaican cuisine.

Welcome to Char's Jerk Chicken & More—Taste & See Jamaican Cuisine.

Char's is open from 11 am to 7 pm Tuesday through Saturday, 12 pm to 6 pm on Sunday, and closed on Mondays. And it's serving up all kinds of Jamaican dishes like "jerk chicken, curry chicken, oxtail, soups" and more.

I'm glad to see a new business and restaurant open in town. Sadly, in the last year, the Lansing area has had to say goodbye to too many local restaurants. Including one that was in the Meridian Mall; Atomic Taco.
