Ford announced that it is recalling more than 550,000 pickup trucks across the United States.

Why? What is going on with Ford this time?

In a report by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there is an open investigation for some of its F-150 trucks from the 2014 model year.

The Dearborn, Michigan company is recalling 552,188 F-150s pickup trucks because of an issue with the transmission.

The transmission could unexpectedly downshift to first gear regardless of how fast the truck is going. This could cause the driver to lose control of the truck, which could lead to a major accident.

In addition to the actual transmission, there could also be corrosion and issues with the truck's transmission's connector pins.
