A massive meat recall has been extended to include nearly 10 million pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products sold at Kroger, Meijer, Walmart, Target, and other retailers in Michigan and throughout the United States.

According to the USDA Food and Inspection Service, the recall is due to a possible listeria contamination.

Class I Health Hazard

A Class I recall reflects a "health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product(s) will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death," according to the USDA.
