Pet peeves, we all have them. Some of us just have a lot more than others.

Some of the most common pet peeves according to Zippia are as follows,

  • Being late
  • Micro-management
  • Interrupting
  • Loud chewing and drinking
  • Clipping your nails in public
  • Standing too close to another person
  • Slow drivers
  • Talking with your mouth full

Yes, to all of the above. I once had a co-worker who would clip his nails at work and it drove me absolutely insane.

All of the above are indeed annoying, but is Michigan's biggest pet peeve listed above? The answer is no. In 2021 burping was the biggest pet peeve for at least nine states, but not in Michigan.

Another big pet peeve for many states was slow internet, and bragging even made the list. Yes, both are annoying - but neither is Michigan's biggest pet peeve. Surprisingly enough, the weather is not Michgan's biggest pet peeve either.

So what is the biggest pet peeve in Michigan? Badly behaved kids. The question is, are badly behaved-kids still Michigan's biggest pet peeve in 2023?

I am going to go out on a limb and say, yes.

You can see what each state's biggest pet peeve was in 2021 in the photo below.

I have to question if slow internet is still a problem in 2023, other than that - I think this data may indeed be accurate today.
