In case you missed it, there is a major chocolate recall, hitting this Michigan based store that you should watch out for.

What Product Is Being Recalled?

Frederik's Meijer Dark Chocolate Almonds are now being recalled here in Michigan. There are two different variations of the chocolate currently being recalled.

  • 12oz Black stand-up pouches (UPS7-08820-68730-1) with a sell by date of May 7 2026 or May 28, 2026.
  • 8-count, 1.5 ox multi-pack boxes (UPC 7-19283-11923-0) with a sell by date of May 5th, 2026.

Why the Recall Was Issued

The product may contain dark chocolate-coated cashews, which aren't on the labeling of the packaging, which could present problems to people with a cashew allergy.

Where Was It Sold?

The product was sold at Meijer stores in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky as well as Wisconsin.

As of now, no adverse health effects have been reported because of the product being sold, however, with the nut allergy, it is probably better to play it safe than sorry if you do have any allergies.

What You Should Do If You Bought It

If you have any of the affected products, you should stop use immediately, and return it to customer service at any Meijer store, and they will give you a full refund.

Additionally, you can reach out to Meijer at 800-543-3407 from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. EDT for any questions or complaints. If you do have any adverse reactions to the product, you should reach out to your primary care provider.
