Over 143,000 pounds of bologna have been recalled from Gaiser's European Style Provision due to labels not including key ingredients. The ingredients missing from the label include pork, chicken, as well as beef. Any dietary restrictions, or for those who have religious dietary restrictions, this could be a big deal.

The recall by the FDA has been announced as a Class III recall, which means there are no immediate health risks or reported illnesses over the recall at this time.

Some of the labels that are affected in the recall include the following:

  • Family Tree Bologna Veal
  • Babushka's Recipe Chicken Bologna
  • Gaisers Russian Brand Doktorskaya Bologna
  • Fancy Bologna
  • Gaiser's Turkey Bologna

There are a few other varieties that may be included in the national recall hitting shelves.

These items were distributed as well as sold nationwide, which means that if you live here in Michigan, you should check your fridge. Michigan stores, delis, and wholesale outlets may have sold the recalled product.

If you purchased any of the recalled products from March 20th to June 20th of 2025, you may want to check the packaging for EST. 5385 inside the USDA inspection seal. If that number is there, you may want to either throw the food out, or return it for a full refund from the store you purchased it at.
