Hey MSU Football Fans, Do You Like The Idea Of Two Friday Night Games??
It was announced on Thursday by FOX Sports that the Michigan State football team would be playing two Friday night games in the upcoming 2024 college football season.
It has been tradition in recent years that MSU would play their opening home game on the Friday night of Labor Day weekend. But, as of now, the season-opening game against Florida Atlantic is scheduled for Saturday, August 31st in Spartan Stadium.
State of Michigan colleges (at any level) don't like playing their games on Friday night so as not to conflict with the hundreds of high school football games that are played every Friday night during the fall.
But we know that these days that the schools themselves have very little say in when their football games will be played. It's all determined by the television networks. Whether it's FOX, FS1, BTN, CBS, or NBC. It's sad that it's come to that, IMO. But if these schools want all the TV money, they have to play when the networks tell them to play. Just the way it is, unfortunately.
So now, MSU will play at Oregon on Friday night, October 4th. With a 9:00pm eastern time kickoff. And then, MSU will host Purdue on November 22nd with an 8:00pm kickoff. Both games will be broadcast nationally on FOX, as the network begins Friday night prime time college football this season.
In fact, MSU will play three of their seven home games in November. November 2nd against Indiana and the regular season finale on November 30th against Rutgers.
So MSU fans, do you like having two Friday night games this season?
