Michigan Man Narrowly Avoids Being Hit By Out of Control Truck
A 74-year-old man in Sterling Heights, Michigan, narrowly avoided a potentially deadly incident when a pickup truck crashed into his home on Friday evening.
Raad Herfi was sitting on his front porch, deeply focused on a game on his phone, when the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m.
Herfi recounted hearing what sounded like fireworks just before witnessing a blue pickup truck hurtling toward his property.
The vehicle plowed through his front yard, hitting a tree and a street sign before smashing into his porch and garage.
Surveillance footage from Herfi's Ring doorbell captured the intense moment.
The truck is seen speeding past a parked SUV and a mailbox, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
The impact was so forceful that it caused black smoke to rise.
Amid the chaos, Herfi found himself momentarily paralyzed, uncertain which way to move.
"I stopped here; I didn't know where to go, left or right. I didn't have time."
Fortunately, the truck narrowly missed hitting Herfi himself, prompting him to reflect on the close call.
He acknowledged that if he had been in a different chair or had moved in another direction, the outcome could have been tragically different.
While authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the crash, they suspect that the driver of the truck may have suffered a medical emergency.
