I'm a big fan of a Koegel's hot dog with mustard and onion, but my personally favorite is hands down a Detroit Coney Dog.

When you combine a warm steamed bun, all-meat chili, diced white onions and yellow mustard you get a flavor explosion in your mouth.

I have two places I love getting a Detroit coney from.

The first place in Grand Rapids is Grand Coney on Michigan Street.

The other place I like to get a great coney dog is One Stop Coney on Fulton Street.

While I think these two places could be among Michigan's best hot dog spot a popular food publication choose another place.

This Hot Dog Spot Has Been Picked As Michigan's Best

The popular food website Eat This, Not That named the best hot dog spot in each state and when they came to Michigan they went with Duly's Place in Detroit.

Eat This, Not That had this to say about Duly's Place.

Duly's Place was featured on Anthony Bourdain's "Parts Unknown," but customers say the fame didn't get to their heads and it's the same unpretentious hot dog spot that locals have loved for years.

 

I was born and raised in Michigan but never heard of Duly's Place.

Now I look forward to checking them out and grabbing a couple Coney dogs and chili cheese fries next time I visit Detroit.
