I have been lucky enough to have ridden the original Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point several times throughout the years. Sadly, I have also waited in line several times and didn't get to ride because it would break down was even open to begin with.

After a part fell off the original Top Thrill Dragster and hit a woman from Michigan, the ride was shut down. During those couple of years the ride was shut down a new design was drawn up and the new Top Thrill Dragster 2 was built.

Top Thrill 2 is 420 feet tall and will travel up to 120 mph and if all goes well with the testing the newest edition to Cedar Point will be ready to rock on May 4, 2024, when the park opens its gates.

Top Thrill 2 sends you partially up the first hill then you fall backward to the hill behind the launch then you go up and over the main hill and complete the ride. It's a bit longer than the Top Thrill 1 and takes up a lot more space in the park but hopefully, the new improvements will make it an even better experience for the riders.

The above video of the Top Thrill 2 is much more focused and it offers all the speed stats as they happen on the ride. My son and I cannot wait to ride this beast.
