Grand Ole Opry broadcasting mainstay Bill Cody is in critical condition as he awaits a heart and kidney transplant in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU.)

His daughter, Hannah Davis, shared a social media post on Sunday (May 31) updating fans on her father's condition and appealing for prayers. "We need a miracle and we know God is able," her post reads in part.

"Friends. Prayer warriors. I believe in the power of prayer and my daddy needs prayers," Davis wrote.

Grand Ole Opry's Bill Cody Needs Prayers Amid Health Crisis

According to his daughter's health update, Cody was admitted to the ICU a little over three weeks ago for heart and kidney failure.

"After weeks of being on a roller coaster of emotions, tests, dialysis, medications, steps forwards and backwards, it as determined earlier this week that his only option for survival would be a double transplant, heart and kidney," Davis wrote.

Cody passed all the tests to qualify him for a spot on the transplant list. However, over the weekend, his heart took a sharp decline. Doctors placed him on Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), a life support machine that pumps and oxygenates a person's blood for them so that their heart can rest and heal.

Davis asked her father's supporters to pray for three specific things.

"1) Pray that he will not experience any of the risks that come along with ECMO — stroke, blood clots, infection. 2) Pray that the next 48 hours on ECMO gives his body time to rest and gain strength [as] this is his biggest hurdle for transplant qualification right now," she wrote.

"3) Pray that the transplant team that meets on Tuesdays will find him a candidate for transplant and get him put on the list," she concluded.

"We need a miracle and we know God is able," Davis went on to say. "Please, if you're able, stop and pray for these things. Our family can't thank you enough. We love you all."
